No, you don’t have to be a member to apply, but you do need to become a member if you want to take the loan. But don’t worry—it’s quick and easy to join Global.
When you apply for a loan, we ask if you’re already a Global member. If you’re not, just follow the instructions at the end of the application process to join.
We offer financing for new and used aircraft for personal use. The aircraft must be certified for flight. You can also use your aircraft for business purposes, as long as you are not charging for its use.
If you want to finance a commercial aircraft and you intend to use the aircraft to generate business income (for example, for charters or flight seeing) then you may be able to finance it through an Alaska USA business or commercial loan.
If you are financing a used aircraft, then it will require an appraisal. We also use public market information, the Aircraft Blue Book, and the purchase price to determine the current market value of the aircraft.
The appraisal must disclose detailed information about any deficiencies and list all recommended repairs, and it must include photographs. You can get an appraisal from a disinterested aircraft dealer or an FAA qualified appraiser.
To finance your aircraft, you will need proof of in-flight and ground hull coverage equal to the amount of the loan with a breach-of-warranty endorsement.
The maximum deductible allowed is $2,500 or 1% of the actual value of the aircraft, whichever is greater. You must provide documentation of your insurance coverage at or before the loan closing.
