Global Credit Union employees hosted the credit union's annual Kids Day on April 27, which brought more than 4,400 people to the Alaska Zoo for a fun-filled family day. Kids 17 and under received free entrance to the zoo and the opportunity to partake in a variety of activities including two photo booths, a tattoo station, game center, prize wheel, cotton candy station, and animal enrichment.
Kids Day at the Zoo is an event we look forward to every year because we get to see the impact this event has on our community first-hand. This year was incredibly rewarding, watching families have fun together as they enjoyed all the activities offered. Over 2,400 kids received free entry into the zoo. That’s the highest attendance record in the last five years.
Sweet Pegarro, Assistant Manager in Insurance Services at Global Credit Union, shared “It feels truly rewarding to be a part of an event like Kids Day at the Alaska Zoo! I just love that this event provides an opportunity for families and all kids to have an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. My team and I had a blast and are already looking forward to volunteering next year! My favorite part was helping size the paper moose antlers to the kids’ heads and seeing how excited they got to wear them. It was so much fun being a part of a fun-filled day, and the weather was gorgeous to top it off!”
We are already looking forward to Kids Day next April to bring the community together and to welcome springtime to Anchorage.
