The Global difference

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Global focuses on providing real value and financial benefit to members like you. For instance, last year we restructured account offerings, eliminating non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees and simplifying overdraft fees—making it easier for members to manage their finances. How much are members saving? Every year we do an analysis to estimate what members save when compared to banks in the communities we serve. In 2023 we estimated that members saved approximately $185.7 million, or an average of $246 per member!

Take a minute to reward yourself

Global Visa® Credit Card users earn reward points with every purchase they make—which means you may have built up a hefty cache of points by now.

Points can be redeemed for travel, merchandise, concert tickets, gift cards, or even to pay for your purchases at Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart!

To see your reward options, sign in to your account online, click on Visa, then select the View ScoreCard Rewards button.

Take control of your insurance costs

You’re not imagining it—insurance costs have been rising for some time now. Makes you wonder if you’re getting the most bang for your buck, doesn’t it? Luckily, you’ve got insurance specialists ready to go to work for you.

Global Credit Union Insurance Brokers can review your home, auto, and toy policies and shop around to make sure your coverage and premiums match your needs and budget. No more paying for insurance you don’t need or policies that leave you underinsured.

Members Making Change

Our annual Members Making Change fundraiser was a spectacular success—all thanks to the generous contribution of members like you. Together we raised more than $80,000—which goes right into programs that provide needs-based services that help children, veterans, military personnel and their families, and local food banks and pantries.

2025 Election information

The Global Credit Union Nominating Committee is accepting letters of interest from members who wish to become candidates in 2025 for positions available on the Board of Directors. Credit union officials serve in an unpaid, volunteer capacity and must be available to attend monthly meetings.

Positions available: 2 three-year term positions

In accordance with the credit union’s bylaws, it is the duty of the Nominating Committee to nominate at least one member for each vacancy on the Board of Directors. The Committee nominates members they consider qualified and who represent the membership and membership areas served. They attempt to have a cross-sectional representation of the membership, avoiding concentrations by any one membership area, organization, employer, rank, grade, or other common denominator.

Members who submit letters of interest should include their full name, account number, current address, phone number, qualifications, and any related experience.

Letters should be addressed to:
Nominating Committee
Global Credit Union
P.O. Box 196613
Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6613

Letters of interest must be received no later than August 16, 2024. Names and qualifications of candidates nominated will be published in the Fall issue of the Member News with information regarding the petition method of candidacy. Ballots will be mailed to members in March 2025, and the election results will be announced at the 2025 Annual Meeting.
