Global Credit Union Foundation Golf Tournament Raises $70,000 for Local Nonprofits

The Foundation is on a mission to help our communities thrive

Anchorage, Alaska – On July 14, players from across Alaska and beyond gathered at Anchorage Golf Course for the annual Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament, raising $90,000 to support two Alaska nonprofits: Challenge Alaska and Camp Fire Alaska.

Hosted by the Global Credit Union Foundation, the tournament brought together business partners, credit union leaders, volunteers, and community members for a day of friendly competition and on-course activities hosted by Global employees, whose volunteer support helped create a welcoming experience for players throughout the tournament.

“This tournament reflects what the Global Credit Union Foundation is all about: bringing people together to make a positive impact,” said Geoff Lundfelt, President of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “The funds raised will help support these incredible programs that create opportunity, connection, and lasting benefit for Alaskans.”

$45,000 was given to Challenge Alaska in support of its Warrior Program, which offers recreation and sports programs for Veterans of the Armed Forces who have a disability. The program provides a safe, therapeutic environment where Veterans can build camaraderie, teamwork, and community through adaptive sports and recreation activities.

$45,000 was also given to Camp Fire Alaska, which empowers youth through summer camps, afterschool programs, and leadership opportunities, with scholarships that help make these experiences accessible to all.
