In 1948, the credit union was founded by a handful of civilian volunteers working at the Alaska Air Depot. Unable to get the money they needed from local banks to start their new lives in Alaska, they pooled their savings and lent money to one another. An act of people helping people that still resonates today.
As the needs of the community grew, so has the credit union. We now operate in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Washington, and even on military bases in Italy.
This December we reached a major milestone—75 years of putting people before profits. Membership like yours lets us do what we do. Whether it’s providing personalized service, offering competitive loan rates, or lending a helping hand to those in need in our communities, none of it would be possible without the strength that your membership brings to the credit union.
