Better account options

We’ve recently eliminated maintenance fees and minimum balance requirements from our savings and money market accounts. But that’s not all—we’ve also modernized our checking to reduce the potential fees in your life.

Core checking

Don’t want to risk overdrawing an account? Core checking has no NSF fees and no monthly maintenance fees.

Latitude checking

Trying to stretch that last bit between paychecks? We get it. Latitude checking takes the stress out of your budget by eliminating the per transaction fees for Courtesy Pay and Overdraft Services. Instead, there’s just one Negative Balance Fee per day that you use an overdraft service and are overdrawn by more than $25 at the end of the day. Plus, with direct deposit there’s no maintenance fee for Latitude checking.

More than $4 million donated

Thanks to the generous donations of members like you, the Global Credit Union Foundation has reached an amazing milestone—$4 million donated to local non-profits. 99% of all the money raised by the Foundation goes to organizations that provide need-based services to children, veterans, active-duty members of the military and their families, and local food banks and pantries. We can’t thank you enough for helping us in our mission to improve our communities and the lives of our friends and neighbors.

Election information

Each year, Global Credit Union—formerly Alaska USA—members are elected to serve designated terms as volunteer members of the Board of Directors. As no members qualified as candidates by the petition method, the slate of candidates is as follows: Board of Directors 3, three-year term positions: Rich Hawley (incumbent), Ron Lee (incumbent), and RaeDene Turner (incumbent).

Since these candidates are running unopposed, their election will be declared and announced at the annual meeting being held in person at the Crowne Plaza in Anchorage, AK on Wednesday, June 14, at 6:00 pm AKST.

If you have any questions about the Annual Meeting, please email board@globalcu.org.

1Rates are subject to change at any time for any reason. Visit our rates page for full details.

2The disclosed Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is the prospective yield that Global anticipates paying for the applicable dividend period. Once the certificate is issued the APY will remain fixed until maturity. The dividend distribution method you select may affect certificate earnings. There is a penalty for early withdrawal from a certificate or tax-deferred IRA certificate. In the event an early withdrawal lowers the certificate balance below the required minimum, the certificate must be canceled or closed, and the forfeiture amount will be calculated using the full balance of the certificate.

There are no qualification or eligibility criteria for members. For complete account information, refer to the Share Account Disclosure Statement. You will also receive one at the time an account is opened.
