Neicy Frey is a painter, muralist and designer from Spokane, Washington. Much of her imagery and inspiration is drawn from a childhood spent in South India and Malaysia. Roughly ten years after returning to the US, Neicy took up painting and participated in her first show 'Raw Space', an event for emerging artists in Spokane in 2001. Since then she has participated in various gallery shows and exhibits across Washington State and has collectors around the US and in Southeast Asia.
Neicy's artwork often depicts large-scale subjects created by a combination of drippy washes of pigment over-laid with rambling contour lines. Her sensual and somewhat surreal representations of floral and oceanic shapes seem to float across large canvases and convey a dreamy state of mind.
Neicy works on her art at her home studio and paints murals on-site. She is currently developing a series of still life paintings from her great-grandfather's log cabin on Dartford Creek.
