Global Credit Union recently sponsored the Military Hero of the Year at a luncheon Honoring Hometown Heroes, presented by the American Red Cross. TSgt. Michael Bergquist spotted a woman who had been thrown from her kayak and marooned in the deep, fast-moving water of the Yakima River. He dove into the icy water, putting his safety at risk, to pull her to safety. Global Credit Union Senior Vice President/COO, Mary Starkey, presented TSgt. Bergquist with his award.
