Ensuring your account security is a top priority for Global Credit Union. As part of our regular fraud monitoring process, we have received information from MasterCard and Visa Fraud Management indicating that some card holders are at risk for unauthorized charges. Global Credit Union is taking the proactive step of blocking affected member cards. At that time, your card will become invalid and should be destroyed. If your card was involved you will receive a letter and an email (if your email address is on file) from us informing you of the date your card will be closed.
A U.S. based processor, Heartland Payment Systems, has experienced a network intrusion thus creating the possibility of sensitive information, including magnetic stripe data of being exposed. To protect your identity and your account information a new card will not be issued until we hear from you to ensure that the new card is delivered to you, as the account holder. Please contact us as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for you to receive your new card.
You can also take steps to protect yourself even further by closely monitoring your account using STARS (telephone banking) or eBranch (online banking) and double-checking your statements to ensure they match your records.
